Brew at the Zoo
There’s something brewing at the Zoo and you won’t want to miss out! Raise your glasses for animal conservation at the 8th Annual Brew at the Zoo. Brew at the Zoo will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with live music until 10:00 p.m. Support your local Zoo and quench your thirst by sipping on specially selected premium and craft beer samples paired with delicious food tastings from amazing chefs and restaurants. Only a few of the top Rio Grande Valley restaurants will be competing for the People’s Choice Award in this “feast with the beasts.”
We’re kicking it up a notch this year with some thrilling new activities. Take a stab at your axe-throwing skills with the Kickin’ Axes mobile trailer. And like always, the beer pong tournament will be taking place during the event. Sixteen teams made up of Brew at the Zoo attendees will compete against each other to be the 2022 Beer Pong Champs. Plus, take part in fun games such as jumbo jenga, cornhole, and giant connect four.
The entertainment for the night will include local artists: fiddler and guitarist, Daniel Perez, EDM DJ Akasha, and rock band, Reserve. The music will be extended until 10:00 p.m. to allow guests even more time to enjoy the event.
The Zoo will feature a special selection of beers that are perfect for the spring and summer season. Guests will be able to sample from various breweries such as Freetail Brewing Company, Karbach Brewing Co., Lorelai Brewing Company, Wasatch Brewery, Firestone Brewing Company and Austin Eastciders. There will also be beers from breweries never before featured at Brew at the Zoo including 5×5 Brewing Co., Alstadt Brewery, Woodchuck Hard Cider, and Kona Brewing Company.
Local restaurants from around the RGV are showing their support by partnering with the Zoo for this worthy cause. Participating restaurants include El Amigo Seafood, Painted Marlin, Kailani Poke Bowls, Ronin Noodle and Rice Bar, Dodici’s, Dirty Al’s, Chef Ricardo’s Tacos and Beer, Adolios, Toucan Lounge, Nfuzn Eats, Texas Roadhouse and Guero’s Beef Jerky. As a bonus, sample mango, chamoy or traditional micheladas from Los Trevi Michelada Combi.
