Taylor's cantil (Agkistrodon taylori) - Also called the Mexican moccasin, the cantil is closely related to the American cottonmouth, often called the water moccasin. This pit viper was the subject of a successful breeding program at the Gladys Porter Zoo many years ago, and many of the Taylor's cantils seen in zoos today came from here.
